Hitting the Ground Running!

We have hit the ground running in April as we welcome spring and many exciting opportunities to make a difference in our community.

We had an informative Business Meeting on April 2nd with a fun project and speaker from Days for Girls.  We helped fold underwear and learned a little more about an amazing organization that works to turn periods into pathways.

On April 4th we showed our support by attending the Clothes to Kids “Clothes Matter Luncheon” to clothe a kid and change a life.  On April 8th we helped to spread awareness in an effort to prevent child abuse by planting a pinwheel garden at New Heights Elementary. As you drive by 38th Avenue North you will see the many beautiful blue pinwheels.  Our hope is that for every pinwheel planted another child will be safe as we spread awareness about preventing child abuse.

This past weekend was all about friendships and fun as we traveled to Orlando for the 124th GFWC Florida Annual Convention.  Our club received many awards for all of the great service work we have done in our community.  Our very own President, Joanna Williams, received the Outstanding Chairman award for her leadership as the Home Life chair for GFWC Florida Juniors.

It is not too late for you to get involved in all of the great events in April.  Here is a breakdown of what is coming up that you do not want to miss:
